Inviting user feedback on the user interface of Programmer Assist. Is it easy to use? Is it attractive? Or is it too confusing? Desire any changes? Have suggestions, please post them here as a reply. Thanks!

Re: Programmer Assist Web User Interface - Feedback pleasereply by Bejaan I like the current UI. It's a bit different from regular websites. It's easy to use, smart use of javascript and 'feels' a lot like an application. Once the activity levels increase on this website, trust me it be an excelent resource for programmers.

Re: Programmer Assist Web User Interface - Feedback pleaseanswer by mastercomputers Why the popup way of posting? That's something I would question.
Also, our community, encountered a similar problem with having all these seperate (specific) categories.
We have been talking about giving users checkboxes to select which categories their questions would fall under, so that if you're asking about PHP and MySQL, you don't have to choose one or the other, but can select what categories and have your question appear in both, since it's related.
My suggestion however was autodetection, by reading what the user had input and then judging that on where it should go, but this is no easy feat so opting for the checkboxes is the easier solution.
This site does not render correctly (minor problem) for me under FF1.5, has buttons that the border/outline overlaps one another, the main link, the question and answer button found on every page at the top underneath the navigation bar, was that intentional? I haven't looked at the source here yet.
Colours could do with some work, tables shouldn't be used for displaying the layout, lots of accessibility issues.
It could be made easier to use, there's a lot that could be improved in this aspect while still maintaining this simple look and not overcrowding it with too much non-relevant content. Attractiveness, it needs better thought out colours, red fonts not good, white on red, not good, really faded coloured fonts on a limish like green. So many mixed use of colours, that red navigation bar stands out too much too, if people stare at it long enough it might result in headaches (true fact).
This will be an excellent resource, and is the only reason I decided to come see what this place was about as I like sharing knowledge. I like the concept, not new, but seems to be inline with what I'd expect, just something basic and simple.
