how can i devloped online domestic air lines ticket booking. i think we used the airlines database or not ?

Ashish,

To develop an online air ticket booking system, I have no doubt that you'll have to use some sort of database, most probably an SQL based DBMS would be used - perhaps Oracle, MySQL or PostgreSQL.

In addition to that you'll have to use some sort of server side scripting language, like PHP, Perl, ASP, Coldfusion, Ruby on Rails etc., to handle the payments, ticket ordering etc.

What platform would you be developing on? In most platforms, databases are crucial for handling vast amounts of active data, however there may be cases when alternatives could be used.

Hello Ashish

first of all you would need to confirm the source of data from the airlines.
The main criteria here is to determine the mechanism of getting data.

Most of the airline reservation systems run with real time data either provided through web-services or some sort of API present on the servers with the airlines.

In any case you can develop the application in any web development technology like .NET, PHP, Cold Fusion.

But i'd say it is more important to determine the source of data and the variation in it.
