Does GW Basic run slow in full screen mode too? Unlike Windows 98, Windows XP doesn't have native MS DOS support. I believe Win XP uses a type of MS DOS emulator.

In Windows 2000, Windows NT and Windows XP DOS is supported only through the cmd.exe command that invokes an MS DOS shell. This is not your routine DOS environment but just a shell for the OS that support DOS 'like' commands. I believe that's what Sri meant by 'DOS emulator'.

Actually the problem was simple, I searched for 3-4 hours and found a solution, right click on the dos file > properties > Misc (TAB) and Idle Sensitivity Should be High.

Ye Srirangan, it ran slow in full screen mode too, but fixed now.
