How does one create his very own unique RSS aggregator/parser for his website?

Hello,
I would like to be able to have Yahoo!, Google, Washington Post, etc. etc. news feeds on my site. You know, the HTML code with the feed integrated into the website and all of that. I've been going over to this site for the HTML codes:
http://www.rss-info.com/en_rssinclude-simple.html
I, however, would not like to have to rely on any website to parse(?) the feeds for me. I would like to have my very own unique web aggregator where all of the news feeds for Yahoo! and all are being parsed and aggregated entirely from my own server. And I would like to have the scripted code in PHP format so that the info will show up on search engines (java applets don't get listed on Google and such).
I know very little about PHP so how would I go about doing all of this?
Thank you much for your time
Stef
